The Kara Goldin Show | 880 Heidi Zak: Co-Founder & CEO of Thirdlove

Rethinking the bra industry by finally listening to women — that’s the magic. ✨
On The Kara Goldin Show, I sit down with Heidi Zak, Co-Founder and CEO of ThirdLove — the intimate apparel brand that transformed how millions of women shop for bras through better fit, inclusive sizing, and technology.
We talk about how ThirdLove challenged an industry that had gone decades without meaningful innovation, introducing half-cup sizing and creating the online Fitting Room that has helped more than 20 million women find their correct size. Heidi shares why solving a real customer problem—not chasing trends—became the foundation for building one of the most recognized brands in the category.
We also dive into product innovation, expanding beyond bras into new essentials, opening physical retail after years as a digitally native brand, and how customer feedback continues to shape every decision the company makes. Heidi also shares what she’s learned scaling ThirdLove, leading through growth, and building a company focused on helping women feel more comfortable and confident every day.
If you’re interested in building a brand by solving real customer problems, creating products people genuinely love, or scaling a modern consumer company in a rapidly changing retail landscape, you’ll want to hear this conversation. You can find it here or anywhere you listen to podcasts. 🎧

The Kara Goldin Show | 879 Alex Taylor: Co-Founder of Perelel

Building a women’s health company that is also pushing for systems change — that’s the magic ✨
On The Kara Goldin Show, I sit down with Alex Taylor, Co-Founder of Perelel — the first and only OB/GYN-founded vitamin company offering clinically backed nutrition for every stage of a woman’s hormonal life.
We talk about how Perelel was built around a long-overdue idea: women deserve better support, better information, and clinically backed products through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Alex shares what she saw missing in women’s health, why trust matters so much in the supplement category, and how Perelel is creating doctor-engineered formulations designed to simplify women’s health routines.
We also get into why women’s health has been underfunded and overlooked for so long, what is finally starting to change, and what still needs to happen to make women’s health a national priority. Alex also shares more about the Perelel Pledge for Women’s Health Equity — a $10 million commitment to fund women’s health research and expand access to maternal care in the United States, with more than $5.5 million already deployed in five years.
If you’re interested in learning what it takes to build a brand rooted in clinical expertise, earn trust in a confusing category, or create a company that can also push for real change — check out the interview on my podcast. You can find it here or anywhere you listen to podcasts 🎧

The Kara Goldin Show | 878 Phantila Phataraprasit: Co-Founder & CEO of Sabai

What does it take to make sustainable furniture more accessible — without compromising on style, comfort, or quality?
On today’s episode, we welcome Phantila Phataraprasit, CEO and Co-Founder of Sabai — an AAPI and female-founded sustainable furniture brand rethinking what we bring into our homes. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Apartment Therapy Changemaker, NYU Law graduate, and board member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, Phantila brings a unique perspective to one of the most complex and overlooked consumer categories: furniture.
Inspired in part by her early experience working in her mother’s eco lodges in Thailand, Phantila built Sabai to address a major blind spot in the sustainability and non-toxic living conversation. We think carefully about what we eat, what we put on our skin, and what we clean with — but often know very little about the materials inside the furniture we live with every day.
In this episode, Phantila shares how Sabai is challenging the traditional furniture model through thoughtful material choices, modular design, and programs that extend the life of each piece. We discuss the challenges of producing sustainable furniture in a category known for waste, hidden materials, long supply chains, and high price points. Phantila also explains how Sabai’s definition of sustainability has evolved from recycled and upcycled materials toward more natural, lower-toxin options, including the brand’s Elevate Natural Collection made with materials like coconut fiber, cotton, latex, muslin, and jute.
We also talk about Sabai Revive, the company’s national furniture buyback program, its Repair Don’t Replace program, and the launch of Fabric by the Yard to make sustainable fabrics more accessible to customers and designers. Phantila shares what it takes to build trust in a category where customers cannot always see what is inside a product, and how Sabai designs furniture that feels elevated and stylish — not overly “eco.”
If you’re interested in sustainable design, circularity, non-toxic living, consumer trust, or building a mission-driven brand in a hard-to-disrupt category — this episode is for you. Tune in now on The Kara Goldin Show.

The Kara Goldin Show | 875 Paula Blankenship: Founder and CEO of Heirloom Traditions & Author of Just Open the Jar

What if it’s never too late to build the business—or the life—you’ve always imagined?
On this episode of The Kara Goldin Show, I sit down with Paula Blankenship, Founder of Heirloom Traditions and author of the new book, Just Open the Jar.
Paula built Heirloom Traditions, known for its All In One Paint, after the age of 50 with no outside funding, no industry connections, and no traditional business background. What started with teaching women how to transform old furniture and cabinets grew into one of the most successful direct-to-consumer paint brands in the country and a fiercely loyal community she built long before “community-led growth” became a business strategy.
In this episode, Paula shares the incredible story behind building her company, the challenges she faced as a single mother and entrepreneur, and why she believes the biggest obstacle for most people isn’t talent—it’s waiting for the perfect moment to begin. We also dive into the lessons behind her new book, Just Open the Jar, including the importance of creativity, resilience, reinvention, and having the courage to start before you feel ready.
Whether you’re building a business, considering a career change, or simply looking for the confidence to take the next step, this conversation is packed with practical insights on entrepreneurship, leadership, community building, and creating a life on your own terms.
Now on The Kara Goldin Show.
